What is an artery and what is its purpose ?

The artery is a blood vessel which carries blood away from heart.It usually carries oxygenated blood but there are two exceptions-pulmonary artery and umbilical artery.
The largest artery in our body is called AORTA.

artery are blood vessels that carry oxygenated blood form heart to other body parts. Except pulmonary artery. it carries oxygenated blood(pulmonary artery)
