Atom:An atom is the smallest part of an element that takes part in a chemical reaction.
Molecule:A molecule is the smallest part of an element or a compound which can exist independently.
Element:An element is a substance that cannot be split into simpler substances by a chemical means. Eg:blue crystals of copper sulphate, copper turnings
Compound:A compound is a substance that can be split into simpler substances by a chemical means.Eg:greyish iron nails, green crystals of ferrous sulphate
Differentiating compound and molecules:
Compound:A compound is a substance that can be split into simpler substances by a chemical means.
Molecule:A molecule is the smallest part of an element or a compound which can exist independently.
Compound:Elements combine among themselves in definite propotions to form compounds.
Molecule:Atoms generally combine among themselves to form molecules because they usually do not exist independently.
