Electric Dipole :-

Electric dipole is define as the separation between two positive and negative charges. It means equal magnitude for some cause but the direction is opposite.So the charges may be +q & -q , and the distance by which it is separated is 2a. When the charges is connected in a same line then will be responsible for the dipole direction .

Magnitude of Dipole moment :-

Symbol of electric dipole is p , and distance d , then p = q× d(vector)

The magnitude d(vector) = 2a   \boxed{p = 2qa }

Electric Dipole Moment :-
It is define as the separation b/w +ve and -ve charges within a system.
we can also that the product of magnitude of charge separated by a small distance . Also the SI unit of Dipole moment is Coulomb metre (Cm).

Direction of dipole moment :- The direction is -q to +q by joining the line. also the ipole in External Electric field is given by Torque

τ(dipole)  = p(vector) × E(vector)

Hope it Helps :-)

Elecric dipole moment is defined as the product of either charge and distance between them.

Suppose +q and -q are two chrges in a system and the distance between the chrges is 2a

Then dipole moment is given by

q × 2a = dipole moment
