A homologous series is a series of carbon compounds that have different numbers of carbon atoms but contain the same functional group. For example, methane, ethane, propane, butane, etc. are all part of the alkane homologous series. The general formula of this series is CnH2n+2.

Hope it helps

Homologus series is a group of organic compound having a similar structure and similar chemical properties in which the successive compounds differ by ch2 groups .

Example of homeo logos series :- all the alkaline have similar structure with single covalent bond and show the similar chemical properties so they can be grouped together in the form of the homologous series the first five numbers of the homologous series of alkaline or along the side . general formula of the human logos series of alkaline is CnH2n +2 .
