What is an intramolecular redox reaction? (I've already googled, but couldn't find it useful. Do not plagiarise, please!)

Inter molecular reactions are one in which different molecules participate.

whereas intramolecular reactions are one in which different parts of the same molecule participates.

Suppose there is a molecule in which one end has an atom which is electron deficient and the other end has a atom that is electron rich.

It is observed than the same molecule undergoes reaction such that the electron rich species oxidises itself by giving an electron to the other end therfore reducing it.

Since both oxidation and Reduction has taken place its a Redox reaction.

I think this much will help you.

ani99ket: example decomposition of any substance the LHS contains only one molecule
ani99ket: this is intramolecular reaction
ani99ket: Think of it this way . in a interclass debate competition different classes compete against each other ... so there are multiple classes reacting with each other
Anonymous: In my book, they've stated 2H2O2---> 2H2O + O2 as a non- intramolecular redox reaction
ani99ket: whereas in a intra class debate competition students of the same class fight among themselves to bring the result
ani99ket: yes there are 2 molecules of H202
ani99ket: so one H202 reacts with the other H202 to bring the result
Anonymous: Shall I message you on inbox?
ani99ket: KClO3 = KCl + 3/2 O2
ani99ket: yes no problem

most of redox reaction are intermolecular in nature. in intermolecular Redox reaction, the molecules of single substance undergoes oxidation reaction by the process decomposition

I think this is easy answer of this question
