Human heart reqires proper oxygen supply to exerts its normal biological as well as physiological functions.The principle artery that supply blood to the hearts myocardium is known as coronary artery.When obstruction occur in the coronary artery hampers the proper blood supply to the heart,there by affecting the functioning of the later.Angina causes severe chest pain and discomfort due to deprivation of oxygen by coronary artery obstruction.
The major factors thatincreases the risk of angina pectoris are smoking,hypertension,diabetes,high plasma cholesterol lebel and also the family genetics.
Angina pectoris is treated with nitroglycerin which act as a vasodilator and decreases the oxygen demand of myocardium by decreasing work load of the heart
