Endoplasmic reticulum ( ER ) is a cell organelle present in all eukaryotic cells .
It is two types
1 . SER - smooth endoplasmic reticulum
synthesise lipids sugars for the cell needs.

2 . RER -,rough endoplasmic reticulum
Protein synthesise particles called ribosomes attached to the outer surface of the RER. Protein synthesis takes place on RER.

Hi mate

While the function of the nucleus is to act as the cell brain, the ER functions as a manufacturing and packaging system. It works closely with the Golgi apparatus, ribososmes, mRNA, and tRNA. Structurally, the endoplasmic reticulum is a network of membranes found throughout the cell and connected to the nucleus.

Hope it helps you...
