Answer:

An anode ray is a beam of positive ions that is created by certain types of gas-discharge tubes.

Properties of anode rays :-

1) They travel in striaght line.

2)They consist of material particals.

3)They are deflected in electric anf magnetic field in opposite to that of cathod rays.

4)The nature of anode rays depend upon the nature of gas present in the cathod ray.

5)They are simply positively charged gaseous ions.

6)Tge positively charged particals carry charge equal to whole no multiple of the fundamental unit of electric charge.

Anode rays are composed of positively charged gaseous ions. And move in straight lines.

Properties of Anode rays are :-

  • These are also known as canal rays.
  • These are positively charged.
  • The positive charge is either equal to or whole number of the charge on an electron.
  • In contrast to cathode rays, positive rays have properties of the gas filled in the tube.
  • The positive rays have a greater mass than that of electrons.
  • The e/m of these positive rays varies depending on the weight of the gas filled.
