Explanation:

Liquid water has a high-density that increases on heating (up to 3.984 °C) The surface of water is denser than the bulk. Pressure reduces the temperature of maximum density. There is a minimum in the density of supercooled water. Water has a low coefficient .

THE ANSWER IS :-

The anamalous expansion of water is an abnormal property of water whereby it expands instead of contracting  4oC to 0oc and it becomes less dense . The density becomes less and less it freezes because molcules of water normally form open crystal structures when in solid form .
