The oxides which are both acidic or basic in nature and react both with acid and bases to form sant and water aste called amphoteric oxides.

The oxides which act like both acids and base under different conditions .

eg- zno and Al2O3

ZNO +NAOH =NA2ZNO2 +H2

ZNO +HCL = ZNCL2 + H2O
