he has done 1/4 work yester day and today does 2/3

So,

work remaining = total work - (work done today + work done yesterday)

(work done today + work done yesterday) = 1/4+2/3

= 3(1/4) + 4(2/3) [after LCM]

= 3/12 + 8/12

= 11/12

Now,

work remaining = 1 - 11/12

= 12-11/12

= 1/12
