apartheid was the official policy of racial separation and ill treatment of blacks followed by the government of south africa between 1948 and 1989.the system of apartheid discriminated the people on the basis of skin color.the 'whites' were considered superior and the rest inferior.the system was oppressive especially to the 'blacks'.
