"regal water" or "king's water") is a mixture of nitric acid and hydrochloric acid, optimally in a molar ratio of 1:3. Aqua regia is a yellow-orange (sometimes red) fuming liquid, so named by alchemists because it can dissolve the noble metals gold and platinum, though not all metals.

Appearance: Red, yellow or gold fuming liquid

Solubility in water: Miscible

Chemical formula: HNO3+3 HCl

Density: 1.01–1.21 g/cm3

The reason it is called royal water is because aqua regia is latin for “royal water.” Alchemists called it that because it could dissolve gold and platinum - metals associated with royalty.Aqua regia is a 1:3 mixture of concentrated nitric acid and concentrated hydrochloric acid. It was used by alchemists to identify metals based on whether or not they dissolved in the solution. It is highly corrosive(Extremely High) Aqua regia readily dissolves platinum and gold.
