❥ Archimedes principle states that the upward buoyant force that is exerted on a body immersed in a fluid ,

  • whether fully or partially , is equal to the weight of the fluid that the body displaces

❥ When a body floats with its volume partially above the liquid surface ,

  • the volume of the liquid displaced by the body is equal to the volume of submerged portion of the body .
