when a body is immersed wholly or partially in a liquid at rest it experience an upthrust . the upthrust is equal to the weight of the liquid displaced by the immersed part of the body
i.e apparent weight of a body in a liquid =true weight -weight of liquid displaced

when a body is immersed fully or partially IN a fluid , it experience a upward force that is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by it .
