Archimedes' Principle states that a body immersed partially or wholly in a fluid, it experiences an upthrust, which is equals to the weight of the liquid displaced by the body.

The weight of the body decreases due to the buoyant force acting on the body, when immersed in a fluid.

In other words, a body loses its weight, when immersed completely in a fluid. The lose of weight of a body in a fluid is equal to the upthrust or buoyant force.

Hope this helps!!!!
