Aerobic Respiration :-

The respiration which takes place in the presence of oxygen is known as the aerobic respiration.

Ex:- Respiration in humans, fish ,and other animals are considered to be aerobic respiration.

Anaerobic Respiration:-

the respiration which takes place in the absence of oxygen is known as an aerobic respiration.

Ex:- The respiration in yeast and some bacteria respire without oxygen.

Difference between aerobic and anaerobic Respiration:-

  • Aerobic aerobic respiration takes place in the presence of oxygen while anaerobic respiration takes place in the absence of oxygen.

  • In aerobic respiration the product obtained are CO2 and H2O in anaerobic respiration the product obtained are ethyl alcohol and lactic acid.
  • In aerobic respiration the energy released is more in anaerobic respiration the energy released is less.
  • An aerobic respiration occurs in the majority of animals wild the anaerobic respiration occurs only in few bacteria and fungi.
