hello @Atmospheric refraction is responsible for apparent shift in position of the sun during sunrise and sunset. Our atmosphere is not a single layer but is composed of many layers of different densities. Atmospheric refraction is caused by the varying density of air among the different atmosphericlayers.

Atmospheric refraction refers to the bending of light rays beacuse of change in medium from vacuum to Air.

This atmospheric refraction is caused beacuse of the differnce of density of medium.

Also, this refraction is beacuse of change in angle of incident with respect to angle of refraction.

This can be calculated as c / v.

Where c is velocity of light in vacuum and v us velocity of light in air.
