Explanation:

In chemistry and physics, an atom is the smallest particle of a chemical element that retains its chemical properties. An atom consists of a dense nucleus of positively-charged protons and electrically-neutral neutrons, surrounded by a much larger electron cloud consisting of negatively-charged electrons.

The word atom is derived from the ancient Greek word atomos, which means "uncuttable". This ancient idea was based on philosophical reasoning rather than scientific reasoning, and modern atomic theory is not based on these old concepts. Atom is the smallest unit of ordinary matter which forms elements in the periodic table. Atoms of different elements are different while the atoms of the same element are indifferent. They have 3 main particles inside them, namely, protons (particles having +1 charge and 1u mass), electron (particles having +1 charge and negligible mass as compared to protons and neutrons) and neutrons (particle having no charge and 1u mass). The electrons and neutrons are concentrated in a small space called the nucleus of an atom, as we got to know from Ernest Rutherford's experiment. They attract the electrons around them and form atoms. This force of attraction between the nucleus and electrons is what makes chemical reactions possible.

This was the knowledge I thought I can write on this Q.
