Atomic radius : Atomic radius is defined as distance between centre of nucleus and outer most shell of an isolated atom.
Atomic size in group : Atomic size generally increases from top to bottom in a group.
Reason : It is die to addition of new shell i.e., number of shells go on decreasing
Atomic size in periods : Atomic size goes on decreasing along a period from left to right
Reason : It is due to increase in nuclear charge which pulls the electrons towards it , i.e., force of attraction between nucleus and valence electrons increases , therefore atomic size decreases.

Atomic Radius: The distance between the atoms nuclei and the outermost shell.
The atomic radius increases as we go down in a group. This is because a new shell is introduced as we go down the group.
Hope this helps!!☺
