Geitonogamy (from Greek geiton (γείτων) = neighbour + gamein (γαμεῖν) = to marry) is a type of self-pollination. ... Although geitonogamy is functionally cross-pollination involving a pollinating agent, genetically it is similar to autogamy since the pollen grains come from the same plant.
