 \bold{AUTONOMIC  \: NERVOUS\: SYSTEM }

It is present on either side of backone consist of chains of nerves and ganglia. Its function is to control the internal organs and the involuntary activities. It becomes active by emotions like anger, fear, grief etc.

 \bold{IT \: HAS \: TWO \: PARTS}

 \underline{Sympathetic }

It is strected between neck and waist region arising from spinal cord. It is stimulated by the hormone adrenaline secreted by adrenal gland located over both the kidney, which gives command to prepare our body for emergency situations.

✳It has effects like :

▶High blood pressure .

▶Pupil dilates .

▶Stops secreation of salivary .

▶Peristalsis decreases in intestines.

▶Bronchi and bronchioles present in lungs also dilates .

▶Stimulates tear gland.

 \underline{Parasympathetic }

Its located anteriorly in the head and neck and in sacral regions. It re establish us from emergency condition back to normal conditions, after the emergency is over.

✳It has effects like :

▶Normal blood pressure .

▶Pupil constrits

▶Promotes secreation of salivary .

# AUTONOMIC NERVOUS SYSTEM...{ ANS }

- System which automatically regulates the activites of INVOLUNTARY INVOLUNTARY SMOOTH MUSCLES, CARDIAC MUSCLES AND GLANDS WHICH ARE NOT UNDER THE CONTROL OF OUR WILL... IS CALLED {ANS...

# Significance of ANS

★ IT PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN MAINTAINING THE CONSTANT INTERNAL ENVIRONMENT. { HOMEOSTASIS }

» Both.. SYMPATHETIC AND PARASYMPATHETIC... ARE INTEGRAL PART OF ANS....

@ Functions of SYMPATHETIC AND PARASYMPATHETIC NERVOUS SYSTEM........^_^

♥ BOTH, sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system... are

ANTAGONISTIC { OPPOSITE } IN FUNCTION TO EACH OTHER...

♦ WHEN WE ARE CHASED....BY DOGGIE... SOMETHING THIS HAPPENS...

@ SYMPATHETIC NS ....

· It DILATES PUPIL

♣ HEART BEAT INCREASES

- BLOOD PRESSURE Increases

° OXYGEN supply is Increased to MUSCLES...

^ SALIVATION IS inhibited...

• DIGESTION AND OTHER METABOLIC PROCESSES ARE STOPPED

# FUNCTIONS OF PARASYMPATHETIC NS...

★ It just works opposite to... SYMPATHETIC NS .... And Brings down.... BODY BACK TO NORMAL....

- ALL THE EFFECTS BY SYMPATHETIC NERVOUS SYSTEM.... ARE BROUGHT TO NORMAL....

THANK YOU ❤
