Baking powder is a leavening agent which is put into any baking goods so that it will increase its volume as well as lighten the texture. For example : - cake, bread, etc.

Baking powder and baking soda looks quite similar as they both are leavening agents, but there's a lot of difference between the both.

1. Baking powder is made up of baking soda.

2. Baking soda contains sodium bicarbonate (NaCHO_{3}) .

3. Baking powder is made up of three acids potassium bitartrate (C_{4}H_{5}KO_{6}) and cornstarch.

Thus, there's a lot of difference between the baking soda and baking powder.
