A force where two forces of equal size, act on a body, in opposing directions is known as a Balanced Force. In Balanced Force, a body continues to be in its position i.e. it may be continuously moving with the same speed and in the same direction or it may be still in its position.
Whereas, in the case of unbalanced forces, the magnitude of the two forces are unequal. In unbalanced forces, the individual forces either act in same or opposite direction.
If two individual forces are of equal magnitude and opposite direction, then the forces are said to be balanced. An object is said to be acted upon by an unbalanced force only when there is an individual force that is not being balanced by a force of equal magnitude and in the opposite direction.
