Balancing is when there are equal no. of atoms on both sides of an equation.
Eg. C+ O2------------------> CO2
      2Na+ Cl2-------------> 2NaCl

A chemical equation needs to show where all the atoms in the products have come from. It also needs to account for all the atoms in all of the reactants. To balance the equation, adjust the number of atoms or molecules until there are the same numbers of each type of atom on both sides of the equation.

ex:2 HCl + 2 Na → 2 NaCl + H2
