It is a type of joint which allows movement in multiple possible directions.

→It is present between humerous and scapula.
→It is present between femur and acetabulum.
→It is present between malleus and stapes(ear ossicles)

The ball and joint sockets contain a cup-like bone socket that holds a rounded ball-shaped bone.   These ball and socket joint is held in place by a lining of cartlidge. For eg- Shoulder, ankle etc.
