The future will be just like the past is based on the assumption that you only have the knowledge of the past and a few knowledge of what the future holds. But then when the future comes, it becomes the past and then you have the full knowledge of what happened.

I might know some things concerning the future, however, I cannot have the knowledge of everything; I'm positive that some things can happen tomorrow that I have actually no information of, which I couldn't presumably have known today.
