What is basic difference between reserved forests and protected forests of india?

Forest villages were those villages which were allowed to stay in the reserved forest on the condition that they worked free for the forest department in cutting and transporting trees and protecting the forest from fires subsequently .
Whereas , Protected forest is the forest with some account of legal and constitutionally protection,or where the habited and racident species are legally accorded protection from further depletion.
