Overt and covert behaviour
Explanation:
- Behaviour is the external reaction or response expressed by an organism to a stimulus or environment (internal and external) in general.
- It denotes the way a person acts through specific mannerisms.
- Behaviours can either be overt or covert
- Overt behaviours are those apparent, directly observable and measurable behaviours observed through observable properties like intensity, density, frequency, observation etc.
- Overt behaviour include observable behaviors or actions like speaking, eating, walking, working etc
- Covert behaviours are those which cannot be directly observed or displayed to the visual eye.
- These include cognitive behaviours like thinking, reasoning, etc which in turn can lead to actions.
