What is a Bhabar?
The rivers deposit pebbles in a narrow belt. It comprises of pebble- studded rocks in the shape of porus beds.This region is known as bhabar. The width of this belt is about 8 to 16 km and it lies parallel to the Shiwaliks. It lies along the foot of the Shiwaliks from the Indus to the Tista.
