Binomial theorem is for expansion of sum of two terms raised to any (integer) exponent.

(a + b)^n = \Sigma_{r=0}^n \: {}^nC_r \: a^{n-r} \: b^r\\\\={}^nC_n a^n b^0 + {}^nC_1 a^{n-1} b^1 +..+ {}^nC_r a^{n-r} b^r +..+ {}^nC_{n-1} a^1 b^{n-1} + {}^nC_n a^0 b^n\\\\Here, \: {}^nC_r=Combinations = C(n, r)

Here we use binomial coefficients C(n, r) = n! /[r! (n-r)! ]
