The following consequences can occur if biodiversity of an area is not preserved: It can result in environmental disasters such as floods, forest fires and hurricanes. It can bring about soil erosion and desertification as a result of deforestation.

it refers to the variety of organisms like plants animals and even microorganism found in a particular area or habitat.
actually every thing in nature is connected to each other via food chain . if biodiversity is not preserved, it can lead to the extinction of many wild animals. and it can also lead to many other things like desertification, flood,famine etc
