Biuret is a chemical compound with the chemical formula C2H5N3O2. It is also known as carbamylurea. It is the result of condensation of two molecules of urea and is an impurity in urea-based fertilizers

A urea subordinate; its quality is recognized after expansion of sodium hydroxide and copper sulfate arrangements by a pinkish-violet shading (protein test) or a pink finally a somewhat blue shading (urea test).

A test for the assurance of serum proteins, in light of the response of an antacid copper reagent with substances containing at least two peptide bonds to deliver a violet-blue shading.

A technique for recognizing proteins in serum. In basic alkaline solution, copper sulfate ions respond with the peptide bonds of proteins to deliver a pink to purple shading, called the biuret response.
