Black soils are called as  cotton soils internationally known as  tropical black earths or tropical chernozems developed by weathering of lava or deccan lava in major parts of maharashtra , gujrat, mp etc. it is a mature soil  which has produced by relief and climate rather than by a  particular type of rock.

Black Soils :-
=> Are also known as Regur soils
=> They are black in colour
=> So , they are  known as black soils.
=> These soils are used for growing cotton , hence also known as black cotton soils.
=> States where black soils are found : Maharashtra , Chattisgarh , etc .
=> Have high moisture holding capacity
=> Has less amount of phosphoric contents
