Blood contains blood cells and plasma.

Plasma contains globulins which protect our body from pathogenic microbes, prothrombin and fibrinogen which clot blood at an injury, and inorganic metal ions.

Blood cells include RBCs: they carry oxygen to various parts of the body & waste products from the various parts of the body, WBCs: they protect our body from pathogens, & platelets: they help in clotting of blood.
