In March 1859, thousands of Ryots in Bengal refused to Grow indigo. This was known as 'Blue rebellion'. The farmers refused to pay rent to the planters. They attacked the indigo factories with weapons and their womenfolk attacked with pots and Pans..

HEY HERE IS YOUR ANSWER

Blue Rebellion is the revolt started by the indigo cultivator to protest against the Britishers to not to grow indigo on their fields. The cultivators were forced by the Britishers to grow indigo which the cultivators not willing to grow.INDIGO was grown on the land where rice crop was cultivated. It sucks up all the nutrients from the soil and the rice crop can not be grown on that field.

So for this reason theBlue Rebellion was started.
