Answer:

Bohr model of an atom is the best model of atom .According to bohr 's model of an atom :-

  • Atom has positive charge at centre.
  • Atom is mostly empty.
  • The whole mass of atom is because of protons and neutrons at centre.
  • Atoms do not radiate energy while revolving in shells.
  • These shells have fix energy thus is called as energy level or orbits.

Hope it helps

Answer:

In order to overcome the drawbacks of Rutherford's model of an atom, Neils Bohr came up with the following postulates of an atom:-

1. Only certain specific orbits known as discrete orbits are allowed inside the atom.

2. The electrons do not radiate energy while revolving in these orbits

The no. of atoms that can be contained by a shell or orbit is given by the formula : 2n²

K shell, n=1

L shell, n=2

M shell, n=3

N shell, n=4

and so on.
