small grains of calcareous matter in the brain (as in the pineal gland) that occur especially in association with aging

called also acervulusacervulus cerebri

the pineal gland commonly present in adult life. The condition is harmless and may prove clinically useful as it may demonstrate shifting of the pineal to one side as a result of a space-occupying condition on the other. Also known as acervulus cerebri.
