____________

buoyancy

force exerted by the water on the object is called buoyant force or buoyancy

buoyant force = weight of liquid displaced

•it was given by Archimedes

magnitude of buoyant force depends on

•volume of object immersed in liquid

•density of liquid

\huge\underline\mathfrak{Buoyancy:-}

The upward force experienced by an object when it is immersed into a fluid is called buoyancy or buoyant force.

• It acts in upward direction and it depends on the density of the fluid.

• When force of gravitational attraction of the earth on the surface of an object is less than the buoyant force exerted by fluid on the surface of the object, object floats on the fluid.

When force of gravitational attraction of earth on the surface of the object is greater than the buoyant force exerted by fluid on the surface of the object, object sink on the fluid.

It is also known as Uptrust.
