Calgon conditioning involves the addition of Calgon or sodium hexametaphosphate to boiler water. this substance interacts with calcium ions forming a highly soluble complex and thus prevents the precipitation of scale-forming salt

Hey dear,

● Calgon conditioning -
- Sodium metaphosphate is called calgon.
- Addition of calgon to boiler water to prevent sludge & limescale formation is called calgon conditioning.
- This prevents damage to heating element, pipes & drums of washing machine.
- At higher temperature, calgon converts calcium salts into soluble complexes so they are easily removed.

Hope this helps you..
