Dear Grandfather
I hope this letter finds both of you in soaring spirits and vibrant health. I am writing to you for help. As you are aware I am preparing for my +2 final examinations, after which I will have to opt for my career. The father has been pressurizing me to take medicine. Dear Grandfather, I don’t want to be a doctor at all! If I take up medicine, I know I am going to fail miserably. I have already had lots of difficulties studying Medical stream for two years.
Dear Grandfather, I have always cherished the desire to be a model or actor. I feel I am naturally made for acting. Even you saw how I was praised for my acting in the school play. Acting is a very respectable profession these days. Once you make a position for yourself, you earn a lot of money, fame, and respect. I have decided to join an acting school in Mumbai immediately after the final exams. I want your support in this decision. I am sure you will not disappoint your beloved grandson. Give regards to grandmother, mother, and father.
Yours affectionately,I hope you are well and have completely recovered from the recent bout of arthritic pains. Dad was really worried but we could not come to visit you because of his busy schedule. But he is planning to take a break to visit you.
Geendpa, my 12th standard results are out and I have a good percentage. So my parents want me to write the Medical entrance exam and go for MBBS. But grandpa, I have no interest in the profession of a doctor. I am rather scared of blood and I cannot even think of someone dying because of my wrong diagnosis or treatment.
But I am enamoured with the acting career. I love to act. I have received many prizes during my school days. The chief guest of the school day this year was a famous director. He saw my performance in the dramatics and congratulated me. He also said that I have a great future in it.
Dad and Mom think that I will be wasting my time trying to be an actor and that a doctor's profession has more status. But it is not true, don't you think? Every profession has its own status. What matters is how you perform. Besides, a person will do better if he or she can follow his or her dream. Being an actor is my dream. Please talk to my parents and make them understand it. If you say, Dad will take it seriously. Please grandpa, please speak for me.
Now I will remain. Soon I hope to see you, as soon as Dad can make it. Please remember my plight grandpa. I will be a useless doctor and that will spoil the status of my parents also.
With lots of love and prayers
Your Pappu
