Calorific value is the amount of heat energy released during complete combustion of 1 Kg of a fuel. It is expressed in Kilo Joule per Kg (KJ/Kg). If the Calorific value of coal is 30,000 KJ/Kg, it means 30,000 KJ/Kg energy will release when 1 Kg of coal is completely combusted.
