Definition and types of canal system:

If the body of sponge is organized is to form a “complex system of pores and canal”, it is called as canal system. It also called as Canal system or Water transport system or Aquifer system. The Presence of canal system is unique feature of all sponges.  

Three types of canal system are as follows,

• Ascon canal system
• Sycon canal system
• Leucon canal system
