What is capillary action? What are the factors on which the rise or fall of a
liquid in a capillary tube depends?

It does depend on the density of the liquid. ... Density of the liquid. Acceleration due to gravity. Note that the cos(theta) term divided by radius of capillary is actually the radius of meniscus.
