Carbyl amine reaction : it is a reaction in which aliphatic/aromatic primary amine reacts with chloroform and KOH and gives out aliphatic/aromatic isocyanide with a foul smell.

R-NH2 + CHCL3 + 3KOH -------->  R-NC  +3KCL +3H2O

This reaction is basically used determine the primary amine .
