what is catenation and homologous series? Give properly answer.

catenation is property of some elements to form a chain of similar atoms like in Carbon which has high catenation property.This property depend on size of atom(small is favoured) and valency of the atom.

Homologous series is a series of compounds having a same general formula like in alkane series with propane butane pentane etc having same general formula CnH2n+n...

Hey..

Catination is linkage of atoms os same elements in a longer chains.

and homologous series is a series of compound with the same functional group and similar chemical properties...
