The positively charged ions are known as Cation.

The Cathode is the negatively charged electron .

In the process of electrolysis , the negatively charged electron is known as the Cathode while the positively charged electron is known as Anode .

And Cation = Negatively charged ion is known as Cation.

Anion = Positively charged ion is known as Anion .

They all are used in electrolysis .
