the enamel of of our tooth started getting damaged when pH of tooth is less than 5.5 tooth decay start when the pH of mouth is lower than 5.5 bacteria present in mouth produce acid of sugar and food particle remaining in the mouth produce acid by degradation of sugar and food particles remaining in the mouth after eating toothpaste is basic in nature is used to neutralize the acid.
