The ottoman empire was defeated and The Caliph ( Sultan of Turkey) was deprived of all his authorities. The Caliph was looked upon as a religious head by a large amount of people. They thought any harm To Caliph's position will harm them too. So Shaukat Ali and Muhammad Ali started a revolution in Turkey to back The Caliph to his position.
