The sensation of of thunder is due to the rubbing of the air particles which is present in the Clouds.
Explanation:
- There is a large number of air and water vapour which is present in the cloud. The the clouds rub against each other when there is a collection of many clouds in the same height.
- As a result there is a transfer of charges between the two clouds. This comes down into the Earth due to the pool by the earth and is known as lightning.
